1200 Stewart - 500 new residential units

Fourth Early Design Guidance Meeting:

The proposal is for two, 36-story residential towers (500 units) with 55,000 sq. ft. of commercial/retail at grade. Parking for 800 vehicles will be provided below grade. It is unclear from the DPD bulletin if the project is slated as apartments or condos but, Stroup's blog identifies them as condos available in 2011.

Date: Tuesday, November 25, 2008
Time: 7:00 p.m.
Location: Seattle City Hall

From a Cosmo-centric point of view, the new development is a couple blocks to the north-east.

Renderings are from Thoryk Architecture,
whose design style is described as "Victorian Contemporary". This is apparently the same firm who designed the famed (and aesthetically out of place) Escala.

Interesting that they picked now to start the development. Maybe people are thinking 2011 for recovery of the real estate market in Seattle.
